Midori continues to advocate taking individual action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of the Circle of Supporters initiated by the United Nations.

"She has founded several nonprofit groups, including Midori & Friends, a non-profit organization that brings high-quality and free music education programmes to underserved youth with little or no access to the arts; MUSIC SHARING (based in Japan and active throughout Asia); and Partners in Performance (based in the US) to bring music to small communities, young people and others with limited access. As a Messenger of Peace, Midori continues to inspire young people through music education to build a sense of community and help advance SDG 4 to provide quality education for all, driven by the vision that music can make the world a better place and improve the human experience."
